Hi

My name is Jade Jones

I am a postgraduate researcher currently undertaking a PhD on the UN Agreement on Biodiversity Beyond National Jurisdiction, specifically provisions on marine protected areas which offer an opportunity to take a more ecocentric approach to biodiversity conservation in the High Seas and the Area. My primary research interests are in the law of the sea, international environmental law, international biodiversity law, and polar law.

Given the nature of my research interests, the majority of blog posts will be focused on the Arctic. However, the interdisciplinary character of environmental problems and governance means blog posts will draw on a variety of sources.
